Nice coin. What grade did the seller give it?

Nice example. Curious what grade the seller set for it.

"CH/BU"... should I not be using the term "grade"? Would "condition" be more correct?

Looks MS-65+ and FSB possibly. Nice grab for $15.

That's a great Mercury dime! I do the same thing. I try to get a nice version of each one of my sets. You did great for $15.

Beautiful dime, it looks fresh from a roll! Generally, you should buy the best coin your money can afford. I say you did very well! Quote: "CH/BU"... should I not be using the term "grade"? Would "condition" be more correct? Interesting that you pointed this out, I've never thought of the literal difference of the words grade and condition. People use this term interchangeably; they can be interpreted as the same thing. If you walk around at a coin show throwing both words out in conversations, others will understand what you're talking about. In my opinion through observations, the word condition is more general. Terms like Good, Fine, Uncirculated, etc. Grade is more specific with a numerical grade. G-4, F-12, MS-60, etc.

Nice pickup, that's a very attractive Mercury dime! I use that strategy for my various type sets; getting examples with superior eye-appeal and in the highest grade that fits my budget. That helps reduce the chance of having regrets and later feeling the need to upgrade a coin!
