Often times when I go to shows I end up exhausting the supply of Lincoln cents before time runs out, so I go digging in other areas. Most of the time it's the bargain boxes and I dig for die varieties in other denominations. Here's what I found in St. Louis this past weekend...

A 1945D Jefferson nickel RPM. There are so many of these and so little printed information I haven't even tried attributing these yet. I have about 100 War Nickel RPMs. This coin cost me $5.

A 1942S Jefferson nickel RPM. This one was $7.

1934D-10MM-001 (RPM-001) Mercury dime. This one was $1.50

1948S-10MM-001 (RPM-001) Roosevelt dime. This one was $3.

1948S-10MM-002 (RPM-002) Roosevelt dime. This one was $3.

And last but not least...a 1941 Washington quarter doubled beak. This is CherryPickers Guide listed at $100 in 63. This one cost me $7.

Some great finds coppercoins! I like the double beak. When you search at shows, do you know what you're looking for, or just came across these? I've only been to one coin show and all the dealers had were very high dollar coins. I was there 10 minutes.

I don't know any of the particular die varieties for the other series. I simply look for and pick up ANYTHING that's a die variety. Now on the other series stuff I often skip a bunch of really minor stuff...I just pick up what's more obvious. I have memorized some of the more valuable doubled dies and over mintmarks to help me out when time is drawing short - but for the better part I just look for anything.

My 'other coins' collection consists of about 450-500 different die varieties ranging from nickels to dollars.
