Hello....another pocket change find. This 1965 quarter has been around the block a couple of times. On the bottom edge there seems to be vise damage. Like it was squeezed in a vise. But being a mechanic, that doesn't look like a ordinary vise. I mean the squeeze doesn't go straight across whatever was squeezing would have had to been rounded. Just wondering if this is ever seen in any type of error. Thank you for putting up with me. This forum rocks

For sure that is damage, but you are right that it looks a little different in that the flattened areas don't exactly correspond from one side of the coin to the other.

You are learning fast. You sometimes have to think like a detective to figure out what happened to the coin before it reached you.

Looks like it was struck with a hammer on the obverse with the reverse resting on a curved hard surface.
