I just completed my Standing Lib Full Head DATE set. I chose to do a DATE set so I can get coins in higher grades, since many fewer coins are needed, and I can also choose the least expensive coin for each date. I'm proud that 8 of the 14 coins have a "+" as part of the grade. I'm still on the hunt for several upgrades. Unlike most collectors, for early 20th Century silver, I prefer the eye appeal of highly lustrous coins with no toning or only slight toning. Yes, I recognize that most of these coins have previously been dipped, but apparently it was done gently enough that each coin still received a CAC sticker. Wow! What a stunning collection! The work of a lifetime! Standing Liberty quarters in high MS grades are tough, and you found the best!

Beautiful set Steve - simply an amazing collecting accomplishment to assemble such a set. They look very well matched together. I'm curious about market availability for these coins. Can you generally find examples of most FH dates at a major show, in which case the challenge becomes cost and eye appeal? Or does it take years for certain FH dates to even become available in which case the challenge is patience and competition from others (along with cost of course)? BTW - the PCGS digital album link you provided requires a log in which I did not do, so lots of folks cannot view the set in that format.

BTW - the PCGS digital album link you provided requires a log in which I did not do, so lots of folks cannot view the set in that format. Nowadays it's really hard to find coins like these at shows. As such, I had to buy almost all of these via auction. In my opinion, while coins in these grades are not available at bargain prices, if indeed found with a dealer, I believe that would provide better pricing. With auctions over the past couple of years, the competition is fierce, and even if there's just one other bidder that really wants the coin, the high bidder ends up "overpaying" to a certain extent. Thanks for the tip on the poor functionality of my attempt to provide a link to my digital album. As such, I deleted that from my post. Steve

Congratulation, the 1916 is an amazing example. I like the gold toning on the obverse a full strike and solid for grade.

What more can I say besides Holy cow ! A full set of just about anything is a great accomplishment but a complete Standing Liberty FH set is insane .
