Wonder what this prize will hammer? It's a proof too! So perfect that it's not necessary to show the reverse. Better hurry....only 15 hours left..... I'm tempted to offer a dollar for it....before someone realizes that there were no quarters struck in 1795....or maybe it's a dollar....the seller can't have it both ways..... https://www.ebay.com/itm/4038556358...9SR-q3_pDeYA"Two minutes ago I would have sold my chances for a tired dime." This is funny for us to look at. This being said, I hope someone reports this to ebay.

Is it appropriate for me to message the seller about this? Or should we just stay out of it?

Are you kidding me? Who is this person? Do they think scamming people is really this easy? I have to admire their boldness, and pray that they don't end up proving that it is too easy.

Quote: Take a look at the seller's other items. Yep, that says a lot. It still shocks me at the vast number of scams on ebay; in a quick two-minute search I did just now I found separate listings for the following "rare" coins: a 1940 Lincoln Cent without a mintmark, a bicentennial quarter with a D mintmark, a 1964 Jefferson nickel without a mintmark, a 2005 Jefferson nickel with a D mintmark, and a couple blatantly obvious fake bust dollars, all from $500 to $2000 each. Of course, I can't imagine anyone with that kind of money to spend on a single coin would ever fall for something so ridiculous. However, I guess from these scam artists' point of view, it only takes one...

No sence in crying over spilled milk , it will go on no matter how much we complain . e-Bay just wants to collect their fees ; That is their main interest .

I see he has now relisted it so we can all fight over it a second time, since we all forgot to bid the first time around.

I think he added a nice 1800 Draped Bust dollar--it's a shame the design looks derivative of the correct Draped Bust image, but not particularly close to looking at all authentic.

Quote: No sense in crying over spilled milk, it will go on no matter how much we complain. That's correct, T-BOP. While I very much appreciate the efforts of some of the more influential members of this forum to try and take down these scams on ebay, it's sort of like using a bucket to try and save your house during a flood. Until ebay makes any sincere effort to stem this fraudulent activity, this kind of stuff will continue essentially unabated.

Funny how he says his 1804 bust quarter is worth $5000, and then starts the bidding at $10,000.
