The first coin I found is a 1906 "V" nickel (5g), and the second is a no-date Buffalo nickel (4.68g). I know they are in bad shape, but it was really neat to find them in a coin roll.

Wow finds there from coin roll hunting! I think I can see the parts of a 23 in your Buffalo nickel, so I say 1923...

I'm with mrwhatsit and think your no date just happens to be a 1923 dated coin! In all my 60+ years of "playing" with coins I NEVER pulled a V nick from circulation/CRH and pulled only one Indian Head cent! Buffalos, even the dateless ones, had pretty much disappeared by the mid 1960's. You are very fortunate. Nice finds!

Wow those are great coins to find in the wild. Very nice work! Undoubtedly, someone spent their inherited collection.

Awesome finds!
I'm sure they were put out in the Wild to spark interest.

Sometimes cashiers won't take them.... I remember a story told by the franchise owner of a local McDonalds. A guy was trying to pay for his food with SBA dollar coins. The girl at the register called the owner an told him a guy was trying to use counterfeit money... The guy eventually got his food and the girl got an education in US coins... Alan

I think I recall that in 1924 or 25 the date was slightly recessed on the Standing Liberty quarter because the dates were wearing faster than the rest of the coin. Alan
