Hey folks Here's the 2nd one up for your grading expertise. Once again, the photos aren't doing this coin justice and also enhancing ever minuscule flaw. This coin has the look! Thanks You realize when you know how to think, it empowers you far beyond those who know only what to think.

I am at MS-65 just like your other one. I think the photos are showing "distractions" that are not visible (or dare I say, distracting) to the eye.

Thanks Jbuck, we need to teach these folks how to grade Ike's. You know your Ike's haha. This is a 65 for sure, smat and Jbuck win. Like smat said, these surface tics are common. These are called Planchet Chatter tics, or PC tics. They are not to be confused with PMD. Also, in hand this coin looks likes the 1st set of photos. Like Jbuck said, these "distractions" are actually not visible or distracting to the eye in hand. I know you're an Ike guy but I'm genuinely impressed with your insight Jbuck! I appreciate your opinions.

Quote: I know your an Ike guy but I'm genuinely impressed with your insight Jbuck! I appreciate that. My Dansco Ike set was completed in 1993 after nearly ten years of actually building an album (a handful of the Ikes had been in a folder five years prior). This is to say that while I have been an Ike guy for a long time, I have come a long way in the last six years as I worked on the PCGS set. It may not win any awards, but it is the best I could afford (or would allow myself to spend). Of course, I am more open to future upgrades in this set. Once the Dansco was done, I vowed to never alter it. Each of those coins has way more sentimental value after 30~45 years of being in my possession!

That's awesome, and upgrades can always be fun!
I know what you mean about the sentimental value, good on you!

No arguments against a 65 on this one. Another nice Ike.
