I believe it is a trade token from Colima Mexico but that is aIl I can tell you.
Perhaps one of our token experts can help.

I found a copy of Latin American Tokens by Rulau and it doesn't seem to be listed. Anyone have any further ideas?

@dar, that is a really interesting piece you have there. I agree it has the rough fabric of a hacienda token, but am not seeing an exact match in Plate XX of Eklund's Hacienda Tokens of Mexico:

That is a really neat piece! Never seen anything like it myself, I did have a small condo in Colima, Mexico back in the 1980's & 1990's but sold it, miss going down there (Manzanillo) such a beautiful area and great people.

This is part of the Mexico local coinage series. KM listings only go up to 1830. For some reason they consistently missed this one. One of Neal Utberg's books may list it. There is also a Pradeau (spelling?) book which may list it.
