This item was part of a collection I purchased many years ago.
It's a paperweight containing a 1958 uncirculated US coin set from Mellon Bank as distributed by The Union Bank of Erie, PA.
It would probably be great trouble to extract the coins from the acrylic (?) in which they are embedded.
Should I try to get the coins out? Put it up for auction on ebay? Easiest would be a trade for something Louisiana-related with a member here.
Open to all suggestions!
Thanks, Hondo

I have always enjoyed these and don't try to break the coins out as the result is usually ruining them. Reminded me of
a video from coin geek about these. Here is the link if interested...

After reading about the trials and travails of attempts to free such coins, they'll stay as is.

Think of it as a paperweight.

Think of it this way: If you wanted a cool looking paperweight like this that contained a a set of 1958 points in MS condition, it would be a lot more difficult to find than just a 1958 minutes set!
