I bought this coin and when I got it found it was graded by PGA out of Plano Texas. I just want to get opinions on the grade and what is an estimate of worth. Thank You! Edited by thelenpm 10/17/2022 5:06 pm

Photos will be needed. Never heard of PGA coin grading, most likely a basement slabber. But the saying is buy the coin not the holder. John1

Important to crop and enlarge the image so it fills as much of the screen as possible.

Hard to tell with the obverse picture, but the serifs of the E's and the F seem to be consistent with a genuine example as does the upright of the 5 being centered over the ball. I'd like to see better closeups of those obverse details and a big clear reverse pic as well.

Knowing what I've seen of PGA's grading, they probably have it graded anywhere from PR65-67. It looks like it may have been wiped or cleaned. There are fine lines visible in the field. Also, something looks a little off with the lower loop of the 6. Yours: Rick Snow's:

In my opinion the PGA holder does not add anything over a raw coin. If you can post full images of obverse and reverse that would be helpful. If I owned the coin I would sent to PCGS or NGC and get it into a respected slab.

The date looks off so I'm going to say it's fake. I'd return it if I could, as breaking it out of the slab to send in to PCGS/NGC/ANACS would certainly void any chance of returning it.
