Just picked up this little beauty at the 55th Annual Fresno Coin Show. What are your opinions on grade and quality?

I see it as F-15. Quite a nice early coin! Congrats!

I just looked this up on the PCGS site. Looks like the normal relief type. Rarity of R6.0 and estimated survival of only 500 in all grades. Only 10 graded by PCGS in F-15 with a value of $3500. Well Done!

I can see what looks like clash marks and adjustment marks not to mention a nice amount of crust around the obverse devices. I'd grade it higher than F15 unless EAC standards are used. EAC Fine but VF by modern grading standards. Nice color and very good eye appeal. Congratulations!

I see her as a F15, with a very nice planchet and color. Great coin!

Can't disagree a little bit with any of the above. Super nice F15, very impressive bit of early copper to be sure.

Why does it look so orange? Shouldn't it look more brown? Scrapes in face and hair seem to indicate more recent surface scrapes exposing brighter copper. Is the color in the pics indicative of how the coin looks in hand? The remaining details and the surfaces look great. Issue I have is that it looks like a halloween pumpkin which isn't how I imagine a copper of this age ought to look like.

F12 was my initial grade but I will also bump up to F15. Outstanding coin! I have to make it up to Fresno some time ;-)

the color of the pics makes me think this coin has been cleaned and recolored. the dark buildup around the obverse devices reinforce this thought. cant tell for sure, but if I were buying it based only on these pics I would make that assumption. could be the pics. whose to say?
i think ithink it has enough meat that I would call it vf20 details

Here are adjusted versions of the same images, with color and lighting dialed down. These images are about the closest I can get to the actual in-hand appearance.   I think PCGS was very conservative with the grade. In my experience only a tiny fraction of 1794 Half Cents match the overall eye appeal of this coin. Just my opinion of course!
