Yes, the result of exposure to environmental agent(s). The coin didn't leave the mint striking chamber in that condition.

Maybe half a floating roof? No premium though beyond face value I think.

Well I can tell you it did not leave the mint that way . With 95% copper Lincoln's , anything can happen to them once they are out in the wild . An environmental problem with this coin .

The 3 floating roofs I have are clearly not connected on both sides and the FG is missing on all 3. Not sure why there is no premium but they are very cool coins in my opinion.

Environmental staining/chemical reaction, post mint damage. Not a floating roof, it would not bring a premium even if it was. Keep searching!
