If this is genuine, is there any value here?

I'm interested to see where folks grade it—with the rims worn down into the letters, it's seen a lot of wear. But, the '32 D is one of the keys, so surely it has more value than just melt.

As a low mintage mint mark, even in that condition it is probably worth $70.00-80.00. If it was in better condition, it could be valued in the hundreds of dollars.

i'd call it VG8.
eye appeal is on the lower end due to staining. I agree with Jimmyd for value

I'm in the VG8 range too. Nice discovery/find.

A good example of early Washington.

Agree with VG-08 and a value under $100.

I thank all of you for your responses and consider your combined experiences quite helpful. This one I found on an on-line auction starting @ $1. I won at the end for $53, about where I wanted to be, based on the info provided here. Hoping to trade @ LCS for Sovereigns. I am more a stacker than collector except when it comes to varieties and errors. I always wondered why the D is more desirable than the S when S is lower mintage.

Grade-for-grade, it comes down to the number of surviving examples. Apparently fewer D-mints around than S-mints in this grade.

Thanks all. To bad about that stained reverse.

I'm not sure what others think of this but you could try straight acetone soak to see if it does anything to the stain. acetone is not nail polish remover. you would need to get 100% acetone from a hardware store. it can remove organic material without effecting the coin so long as its washed off with distilled water and allow to dry naturally.
if it was mine, i'd leave it be.

Thanks panzaldi. I'll just leave it be. Afraid it might dissolve the MM. Haha.

I'm going with an authentic VG-08 32-D Quarter . I don't think I would spend $53 for that particular coin but everyone's wallet is different . It's a key date and mint for silver Washington quarters .
