I just see circulation flattening. DDO-002 is a doubled eyelid. Did you mean one of the other sites?

I don't see a DD, just flattening. A Doubled Die cannot be similar, it has to be exact with all the markers. Remember, most DD's have thick letters but not all thick letters are a DD.

Variety Vista was the one I checked. Thats kind of my go to website. LOL but I wondered about some of those spots just being circulation flattening. But the date, mainly the 7, looked to be doubled at the top. So I wanted to ask you all. :) Thanks guys.

Gotcha. The seven may have taken a hit on the top, been nearly a hundred years and this guy looks like he may have been in circulation for most of that time. You typically will see corresponding doubling close to what you think is doubled too and there would not appear to be anything going on with the 2, other than circulation flattening. Keep up the search, you are learning quickly, nice to see that occasionally.Quicker than I did....

I don't disagree with the others' assessment, but that number seven sure does look notched at the top. I can see where you were questioning this one.

I'd grade this as VG-08, worth perhaps 15-20 cents retail.

As Makescents said, the doubling on that coin is the strongly doubled eyelid. Unfortunately, there is gunk around Lincoln's eye on your coin which might be hiding it.
Maybe soak in acetone to see if the gunk is hiding something.

Quote: Description: Strong spread as an extra eyelid South. Check this box to see what the doubling is on the die first. (All the other devices will be normal, just the hub doubling is seen on the description areas) Circulation flattening doesn't make it a doubled die. http://www.varietyvista.com/01a%20L...7PDDO002.htm

Yes me too. Do not see a DDO. Actually too late in years and circulation to see a DDO if it truly was. Very few coins are DDO at such a circulated state.

Quote: I thought you might take a look at this thread. Yeah but I still had to visit VV to make sure my memory was working and confirm where the doubling is on the variety. LOL
