Here is a real contender. This coin is much nicer, imho, than the one I posted recently. What are your thoughts on this one? Thanks! This one is easy to find so if you are able to see the TPG grade feel free to post it after the customary 48 hrs but until then, let us have some fun grading this one without the TPG opinion. This one is MUCH better strike than the previous one. Definitely full bands. And if #1 was MS-65, this specimen is certainly deserves a higher grade, although I'm not sure of the obverse fields.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Much nicer than the last. MS64/65 obverse, MS65/66 reverse. I prefer the reverse toning over the obverse, more consistent, less patchy. I would call this one FB.

Quite a few more disturbances in the luster, compared to the other Mercury, much more so on the obverse, but a sharper strike. Slight flattening of hair detail (wear?), above forehead, and behind Lib's eye. Reverse better. AU-58 FSBA Mercury dime? please don't rub mercury on it !!

Cannot really tell from the photos, but the reverse looks MS65 FSB. The obverse has some marks that are barely visible (blurry). Benefit of the doubt overall MS65 FSB.

A few tiny marks and scuffs but excellent eye appeal and solid strike. No-question full split bands. Can't see it grading lower than MS-65FB. Should "sticker" with CAC, too. Just another low-budget hole-filler in the NS set?

Lol. Gotta say that the obverse strike is superb. Love that hair and wing feather detail.

Super coin! A lot of the fine hairline marks on the obverse look like they are on the holder. I'd say MS-66 FB.

I'm with Zurie , MS-66 FSB . Obverse fields might deduct to a 65 but you gotta love this key Merc .

most definitely better than the other one. much better strike. me likey! no less than MS65FSB I'm betting on a +, a bean or even an outside shot at 66

Im at ms-65FB with a bean. A knockout coin for sure!
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better?

Beautiful example with a lot of eye appeal! I'm at MS65 FB, though as Zurie mentioned it appears some of the hairlines on the obverse may actually be on the holder, which if that's the case I might bump my guess up slightly...

The sort of coin that dreams are made of. Solid 65FB and bar none the finest example of that coin that I've ever laid eyes upon.
