Got this in change the other day. Did some investigating online but can't find one that is as drastically askew as this. Worth anything? Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

to the Community! A cool find and definitely worthy of a quality currency sleeve for long term storage. As far as value goes a stuck digit that far off is definitely worth a few bucks over face value but not anywhere near "moon" money. I hope you enjoy it for many years to come! Heck it only cost you a dollar!

Cool find. with Westernsky. This error happens when the numbering wheel for a banknote's serial number fails to advance correctly. If one of the digits advances only partially (or a little too far) and is not aligned with the others, then the stuck digit error occurs which is also known as a gas pump error since it resembles pricing on the older (non digital) mechanical gas pumps. Yes usually there is only a slight alignment issue (minor) and even those sell for a bit over face value but arent rare, but sometimes like yours part of the digit might be truncated, or part of the adjacent number on the wheel might even be seen and those should have higher desirability to collectors and bring in potentially a higher value. If one of the digits gets stuck but all the digits in the serial number still appear to be aligned correctly, then a Mismatched Serial Number Error occurs. A check of the other serial number will show the discrepancy.

Oddly, it looks more like a 5 than a 6. to the CCF!

Hey everyone thanks for the info. I definitely will get it protected ASAP. Coinfrog, it is a top of a 5 that is visible. If it was a higher res pic you could actually see the bottom of the 6 at the top that didn't rotate into place before printing. It certainly is a conversation starter lol.

I showed it to a coworker when I discovered it. He said "How did you notice that?".. I was like how did everyone else that had the bill NOT notice it?

to the CCF Awesome find. Hopeful that Steve can weigh in with his views on collectability but it's a keeper in my book.

Welcome to CCF. We tend to get our fair share of stuck digits around here. Most are barely turned. This one is about as dramatic as it gets with this type of error. It's unfortunate that someone didn't see it before it circulated so much. Cool find.

Hey Steve, that was my thoughts exactly. I can't believe nobody noticed such a crazy error before it was too circulated. I know the value isn't much but I'm definitely holding onto it. It's just so unique. Thanks for your input!

Nice find! Took me a while to find the error even when I knew there was one!
