It almost looks like the copper foil, off of another struck coin, then stuck (or placed) on another coin. If it were though, the foil is flipped. The more logical, would just be a vise job but that's no fun. Pretty cool looking.

I think @dear nailed this one. Looks like clear glue to me too.

Yeah, I too think it it is some type of clear glue impression from another cent which came off. Reason? Letters CA are backwards instead of rightly oriented if it were genuinely double struck...

With glue, you don't need a vise. It's just a "glue job".

I was thinking of glue as well (or sugar/soda water). Although the closeup seems to show a raised bump on the E, in line with the secondary detail, that might be from the strike. The simplest answer ( PSD) is probably the correct one. EDIT: The designer's initials on Lincoln's shoulder are reversed. The secondary image appears raised but sometimes my perception goes haywire. Are we to assume the reverse has no bearing on the attribution since it wasn't provided or was that part of the exercise?

It is a mirrored impression of another Cent that was glued to this One, backward letters of the designer's initials on Abe's shoulder can also be considered as a clue on top of the GLUE

This guy was trying to tell a facebook group that this was a "molten copper" error. I went back to post a link to here and he deleted the post. I asked him 5 times to explain the backwards lettering and he ignored me completely.

He's supposedly sending it to PCGS today (why are noobs so obsessed with grading?), I told him to send it with the fastest turnaround and if it came back in an error holder I'd reimburse him. So the only way he loses is if, ahem, I know more than him. I told him at least 5 times to soak it in acetone and it would come off, he ignored that too.
