1943 P Wartime Nickel Correct Color?

The color just seems different than other wartime nickels. are my eyes playing games with me or does it seem to be more copper/pinkish toned? Thank you!!! Added some close ups below. My opinion only, for an explanation: I think that the US Mint was trying to make wartime 'nickels' look as close as possible to normal alloy nickels of other dates. As we all know, wartime nickels have a rather nice color as freshly minted, but as they wear in circulation, they develop normally into the color that approximates into the color that is seen with other Jefferson standard alloy nickels, that have the same amount of wear. I think that the US Mint succeeded in their endeavors, with their alloy design for wartime nickels. Report this Post to the Staff
