I'd leave well enough alone.

there arent any unblemished spots in the obverse fields. I dont think this coin would 58.

It's not severely undergraded. At least it doesn't look like it in these images.
It's a super nice piece that might go 55 on a given day but it's already in a PCGS OGH which brings cache. I don't see the luster of a 58 here. Do not have it regraded, it's a waste of money imo.
I'd run it through CAC. If you score a gold sticker you win big. Even a green sticker is good of course. Best of luck!

I have thought about maybe submitting it to CAC too. But the problem with the CAC gold stickers is that they aren't too clear as to how much better the coin looks grade-wise. It could be good as if it's a 55 but in my eyes it looks like a 58. It's too vague. Is CAC even going to put stickers on holders anymore as soon as they start slabbing coins? I don't even know. I'm not even planning on submitting anything anytime soon until I get a big enough group of coins together that I feel as if I can justify sending in to cover the cost.

There's no way this is a 58.
Cac this coin.
If it gets a gold CaC sticker that would bring more money than a 55, which I think it could grade.

From what I've read you will get more bang for your buck to try for the CAC sticker, I believe they are closed to new submissions currently though. Very nice coin.

way too much chatter in the fields on both sides to pull a 58. I think AU53 is the correct grade outside chance at AU55. better shot at a bean
as a side note personally I think $700 is a little steep for the coin

im no expert on Seated coins. to me this one looks like someone went at it with a brillo pad. the color doesn't look natural to me either. I think whoever submitted it was lucky that it strait graded. you guys think it would cac? PCGS has 53 in their price guide at $650 and auction results are around $400.

This looks severely dipped out. There needs to be stronger field luster for this coin to grade AU-58. I think it is an unappealing AU-55. You are correct, it has better detail than an AU-53 but any higher grade would likely be stumped by a details designation.

Near-mint state detail for sure. The whole-slab photo shows significant luster disruption across the obverse fields which likely prompted some net-grading. That's how you ended up at 53, IMO. If it were cracked for a regrade attempt it might come back AU details, with a cleaned or altered-surface problem noted. I'd leave it in the current slab.
I've never submitted a coin for CAC approval but it might be worth a shot.
$700 does seem like full retail price for this coin.

I can see it in an AU-55 holder but nothing higher.
