Wexlers and Variety Vista have different "Bar" DDR's listed but not this one. It sure looks like a DDR, what do you think, maybe new one?

Didn't find it on Wexler or Varsity Vista for 69D. I have seen this listed on other years. I do think it is a true DDR.

Given the pics, I'm thinking this is legit.

That looks good to me. You might want to send Tanman a note on this one.

The problem is that the bar cents are on the single squeeze dies. This is pre single squeeze dies. So that can't be the cause. If it were an issue with the hub process, then several of the bays would have had this. Note that the affected area is raised above the statue, the roof is showing evidence of die polishing. The Initials are also weak. The mintmark location looks similar to the Floating roof dies issue. (But really is a different location) Probably need to see if there are other coins with the same die event to know if it was a single coin issue, or a die issue?

Does it look like it's on/in column 6 a little to much? It looks like it's affected the straight line of the column? I think they usually run along side/touching column? After reading this I'm not sure if that makes any sense.

Thank you for the positive feedback CCF! This coin is on its way to Daniel Griffin at Wexlers. I will update this topic as I receive more info. The initial response from Dan is this looks like a new DDR!

Excited to get this listed as 1969-D 1c WDDR-002Link here http://doubleddie.com/814723.html There are now three different "bar" or "slant" DDR's listed for this year (1969-D WDDR-001, WDDR-002, & DDR-001). They all look similar yet are in slightly different locations around the statue. I wonder what happened at the Denver mint to cause this?
