coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 01/29/2023 11:52 am The problem is that the bar cents are on the single squeeze dies. This is pre single squeeze dies. So that can't be the cause. If it were an issue with the hub process, then several of the bays would have had this. Note that the affected area is raised above the statue, the roof is showing evidence of die polishing. The Initials are also weak. The mintmark location looks similar to the Floating roof dies issue. (But really is a different location) Probably need to see if there are other coins with the same die event to know if it was a single coin issue, or a die issue? It looks like it's affected the straight line of the column? I think they usually run along side/touching column? After reading this I'm not sure if that makes any sense. They all look similar yet are in slightly different locations around the statue. I wonder what happened at the Denver mint to cause this?
