It also appears that I may have a doubled star 5 right. On the roughly south side. It's either an extra point or a die chip. I am leaning towards a point, based on loupe viewing and other pictures I was taking in the sun when my phone went dead. Attached is an existing photo I had. Will check my new pictures when phone charges and see if I can crop something to 300kb.

Also I have questions about the die chips it states are around D W E U (IGWT). I can't find any pictures of these. On the letters O W E on my coin I have solid raised lines that run the length of the bottom of the letters. Is this to be considered die chips?

I also have extra metal below first T in trust. A die chip possibly? Also at the bottom on the N in IN there appears to be extra metal.

Die chips generally have nothing to do with VAM assignment. They are common on Morgan dollars.

If you feel you have a new variety that deserves further research, the best option is to post your images at VamWorld. That's where new varieties are assigned. The experts over there can tell you if they would consider looking at the coin in more detail.

I am new at all of this. I was just wondering about what the die chips look like by those letters. Maybe what I am seeing on the bottom of the letters is DDD or MD or is the die chips they speak of or something else. I surely have no idea. Was lookin for help with those. I definitely have raised metal by the E in ONE that is the shape of the upper serif of the E. And the possible extra point on star 5. Just things I have seen while I was looking at my coin.

So if the die chips are not relevant, why are they listed in so many different VAM descriptions I have read?

Anyone live in south central PA that is knowledgeable about vams, that would want to meet a new member and look at my coin with me? If it's a new variety, I will share the "discovered by" with you. I am just a 66year old grandpa, that is freshly retired. I will gladly pay some $$$ if need be.

Thanx everyone for your replies.
