I was looking through some 1982 pennies and I think I found the small date kind. Am I right and is it worth anything? I'm not sure if this is the right variety, I'm kind of confused on all the different variants for the 1982 cent. On mine you can clearly see the 2 is more curvy and from what I understand that helps to determine if its a small or large date.

Weighs 3.09 grams

Here's some photos...

Yes it is a small date.
It would have to grade very high to be worth anything.

It's a small date (Philly mint). Worth face value. The small date copper D mint is the rare one.

There's also bronze versus zinc, but very little value difference between any of the variants (or value at all) until you get into high MS grades. Only two 1982-D small date bronze have ever been found, but the rest are common.

OK, thanks for the help everyone! I guess this really isn't worth more than one cent. I'll hold onto it just in case I come across any 1982D pennies so I can compare them and see if they have the small date.

Yes it is a small date. However, aside from small and large dates you also have the D mint mark and if they are bronze or zinc. If I'm not mistaken, the one you should look for should be a small date, Denver mint, and bronze (should weight around 3.1 grams). I found a link that may help:
