I can't figure out if this is a die deterioation doubling in IGWT and if around K.3 through K.6 is this an attempt color the coin or hide some defect, possible die break--there looks like a glue or sap around there

I see the the crack as well but I was a little hung up on the coloring of the coin I have the feeling somebody touched it up.

Agree with DDD and that crack area does seem a bit oddly colored.

Laquer or other material had been applied to this coin and the die crack is also Retained Cud. But for the DDD, what is visible that shows it is not a DDO? What else can be provided here, closer up photos?

Not DDD. Just extreme die wear.

I see similar shadowing on the legend LIBERTY, in particular on the last three letters. I was prepared to call this DDD, but now coop has me confused.

What is getting me is the strength of the final 9 of the date compared to the other peripheral devices. Seems wonky to me to be so sharp and nondistorted.

Never heard of "touching up" a coin. Is this something we need to beware of?
The touchup is done to the actual coin itself?

Alteration post strike ruins the value of the coin. It can loose up to 90% if it were a variety coin when altered. Plating, cleaning or what else that can alter a coins surfaces are not a good thing when done wrong.

Damage is damage to a coin, regardless of how it was done.
