I found this but I'm still new to collecting and I'm not sure if this is some sort of damage or if it's an error. Keep, junk or sell? Any help would be nice. Thanks!

Looks like staining of some sort, not an error. to the CCF!

This looks to be environmental damage (ie it is not an error from the mint). Kinda interesting, but just a spender if you don't want to keep it.

I wish it was easier to show you but it's not stained. It's the exposed copper. I wasn't sure if maybe the coin got damaged somehow. The bumpy texture made me think some sort of corrosion? However, it doesn't look normal. I'm totally at a loss on this one.

can you post up better images? larger 600x600 if possible, also a close-up of the coppery area.

Yes--full, large and sharp images work wonders. Enlargements of low resolution pics have little use. Thanks!

I'm still getting used to my new scope too and pictures I take going onto my PC are not true to the right color. I just took these with my phone. Hopefully these are a little better.

It is not an error, it is a corroded quarter worth 25 cents.

What does the edge look like? I agree with it being environmental damage. John1

I used to do the following all the time in the chemistry classes I was teaching to give the kids an idea of how nitric acid dissolves metal. If you pull the coin out at varying stages you get times when the clad is mottled looking b/c the copper copper show through...such as seems to be happening in the OP's coin. So it's a good possibility the following applies. Besides that, nothing in the minting process could produce such a coin so it is PMD and worth .25.
