What is the cause for the extra material deposited by the rim? I have no idea if these pictures will even load so if you can't see anything don't bother lambasting my computer skills, I'm already tempted to use this thing for skeet practice right now.

I was just about to load the tubes but decided to give it another go. Maybe it works now.

It appears that there is a foreign substance like glue on this coin.

Looks like glue. Give it a soak in acetone

That was my initial thinking but it's definitely foreigner free. It's a rather complicated topography but it had to come off the die like that and the how part is what is vexing to my tiny brain. If anyone has the quarter that came off just before this one I'd like to see it

Foreign substance. A soak in acetone will likely remove it and acetone cannot alter the metal of the coin so it is not considered "cleaning" a coin, but restoration/conservation.

I will upload a complete set of pics this evening. Acetone has already been onboard during the restoration process and there really is absolutely no gunk. That's just the metal. My apologies for not providing the entirety of pictures though, I am just a feeble minded rookie here but as soon as I'm done with the girls track practice I'll have them for you. Thanks fellas
