30+ years from my pocket to coffee can and finally decided to take it on. After purging 25+ lbs of corroded, separating by decade and separating some by year I've lost the will (not to mention eyes and back) to continue and am now thinking of just letting them go.

Question; is there any value in me pulling the few thousand that I would consider to be bu full red, mostly mid 70s to 2012.

Quick hit; even though I was able to put together a circulation set 1937-2012 I actually found more older dates in 10-12 lbs of US mixed in than 100+ lbs of Cdn.
Oldest Cdn: 1937
Oldest US 1909 LMC

Where are you located? BTW, old plastic prescript pill bottles work great for many denominations and are really nice for separating out specific dates or "hard to finds". You have a chore ahead of you. Folger's cans are heavy when full, aren't they?

I'm in Ottawa now but the accumulation is from growing up in Vancouver then 10 years in Calgary and 10 years in Ottawa, Back in the day is was common to get US change almost daily in Vancouver. - and yes those cans are heavy and don't sit well on a bathroom scale. Lol.

One full coffee can holds 4000 pennies. I keep my culls in them for future penny projects.

Wow I really wasn't sure and guesstimated 30k, with 7 cans and a couple of large jars it looks like I was pretty spot on.

Thanks

I would be careful putting all that weight on your ping-pong table.

It is worth taking the 2006 coins, separating out the magnetic ones, and then looking for no logos. I would be surprised if you don't have a few in there.
