I always remembered Ken Potter saying that alot of Canadian Double Dies have yet been found. He encouraged me to always look and by golly I think I found a 1975 Double Die on a 5 cent. The ELIZABETH II is showing me it. I will post the REGINA separately and you gotta see that side of the coin, Enjoy the pics.

Now the side of the coin of the REGINA, This side of the coin is just crazy with all the letters being SAW like serrated. Even the Queen has it too. Like to know what happened here? Enjoy the pics.

this looks to be Machine Doubling or DDD.

Personally, I don't think that it's die doubling either, but I'm sure not an expert on this stuff. I think that it's a combo of DDD and MD, as the above poster comments.

I'm swinging your way on this also and attributing that way. Deffinatly going in a 2x2 holder. Going to research the REGINA if others have found Die Deteriation to that effect.

Correct to assume deterioration unfortunately.

The Regina stuff I've seen called "ejection doubling" or ejection damage - "shows metal pushed sideways into the lettering and then pulled upwards during ejection." Basically the coin briefly sticks in the die a little during ejection, is the way I interpret it. I see it in the raised metal above the serrated edges on yours.
