Sweet , Imo, There is Nothing like a Perfect " Uncirculated " Finish American Silver Eagle, or Most Other Uncirculated Coins.... I have Always Appreciated the " under dog ", ( usually Less Minted and Usually Less Collected historically )  Best Wishes Collecting. $60.00 ain't too bad, I just checked ebay sold prices for an ASE just like yours (NGC PF 70) and they all sold for at a min of $80.00 and a max of $215.00. So well done on your purchase? |

I agree that the mint has stopped referring to uncirculated coins as "burnished" and doesn't mention special planchets in the product pages in recent years, but I don't recall hearing anything official about it. |

I have the 2021 Burnished and a 2021 S Emergency Release, both type 2, both MS70 grade by NGC (NGC doesn't use "SP" designation), the finish on both a very similar, in fact, the S mint is a bit more satiny, neither look like my 2008, reverse of 2007 http://goccf.com/t/436255&SearchTerms=2008 . Way back When 1986 the ASE Series Began. The term Burnished was not used. Where did the " Uncirculated" Finished Coins Go, in the American Silver Eagle Series The coins ceased to be Made, No Longer an Uncirculated Coin, Just Burnished!. The term " Burnished " was Incorporated, into the series I believe in 2006, and away to history the Uncirculated term went. WHY .. I personally do not understand the Hand Held Discernible differences, That's just me. Back in 1986 the term Burnished was NOT used...... |
