Thanks, that all sounds good. Looking through Dearborns collection had me thinking I'll just go ahead and start my own thread about my collection. I was going through my set on a Facebook page I guess over a year ago, I stopped at 2019 due to a bit of a crisis with the collection, which I've overcome. But I'm not sure about posting pictures here yet. I'll have to figure that out.

Quote: There is a 2011-S Burnished Silver Eagle that was a special Anniversary issue from the San Francisco mint. @dsking, Threads have a tendency to eb and flow. I must respectfully disagree, as your own research is accurate, stick to your guns, you did good. I didn't take the one word response, "false", to your post as a trivia question, especially when nothing backed up the comment. Then it turns into a trivia game/Easter coin hunt. To date, there is no such designation for a 2011 "S Burnished" ASE. If anyone, with a complete, or partial set of ASE's, can provide evidence to the contrary, I will retract my statement. The reputable TPG verifiable label, will tell the tale.

Quote: ? well, is there an answer for this Dan? Sorry I messed up the quote. I've muddied up Kennedy's post enough with my penchant for tricks and riddles and now bantering back and forth. I do apologize to the group and especially Kennedy for derailing this thread. Good luck on your ASE adventure. Yes there is an answer. There are several that many ASE collectors have told me they'd never heard of. At the moment, I am pretty sure I'll go ahead and start posting my collection for you guys, and instead of just spilling and saying " I have this and that and I bet you never heard of this one", I'll just start posting my collection, but it'll be a process. I am also nervous about the maximum file size, although the pics in your thread give me hope. I don't have a lot of luck with this stuff. Will be more like pictures of all the ASEs issued in a certain year or groups of years when there wasn't a lot of sets issued. I used to do a weekly ASE report on a face book page and hoping I can transfer a lot of the pictures I used at this site as well.

Quote: Fixed. Got it this time! Your da best and thanks for some badly needed levity at this time. I'll start posting my collection and it'll all fall in to place. But I do like doing the little "tests". I was just really short on time, like I am right now, which is where the "false" statement rooted from. I get short breaks and only occasionally. Will hopefully get things started tonight.

Ok, well if I can justify what I'm saying: I don't really take a lot of stock with what the graders say, how they describe or label things. I like to stick with the mints own terminology, ie bullion, proof, Uncirculated, with full agreement that "Uncirculated" add a finish name is very confusing. I will point out that to my knowledge, the mint has never referred to any finish as burnished. They have use "burnished" or burnishing as something they do to the planchets. But no Eagles have been intended for circulation, so "Uncirculated" is confusing and I'd definitely say there is little confusion in any conversation about use of the word burnished. It's pretty interchangeable terminology. But to my point about the 2011 S Uncirculated, the mint is very stringent in it's terminology. I posted the copy/paste from the mints own description of the 25th Anniversary set and they describe it as a San Francisco Uncirculated. Again it's the different term for the same thing. S mint mark, Uncirculated or "burnished" finish. The comment I made about if the same grader would give the implied S on the bullion is because the mint did later announce all the bullion coins in that set were minted in San Francisco, but as bullion coins do not have the mint mark. I don't think implied mint marks were a thing until the mid 2010s, which is a topic for another time.

Debbie, Very Interesting , Noticed the Seller used the term BURNISHED, NOT on the TPG's Label.... Everyone knows the 2011 25th Anniversary 5-Coin sets has a Mint State, UNC 2011-S Coin..... I have been collecting this ASE series since 1986 I like Many Know exactly what is and Exactly what is Not in the series, Let the games Continue.......... Thanks Debbie..

MorgansDad: I think that I would have to have one in-hand to see if they really were burnished. All of the photos that I've seen seem to look burnished but, photos lie - sometimes!
