Not a Canadian coin but here's a recent purchase that is oddly reminiscence of the 1871 Prince Edward Island 1-cent. The homogeneity of the British Empire's numismatics tastes is pretty remarkable.

Beautiful Coin! I have always enjoyed this effigy of King George the fifth ever since I was a little kid. The effigy just shows what my mind always thought ideal picture of a king would look like. When I was a kid I remember anytime I heard a story about a king this is what I thought of.
