Hello,

Some help would be appreciated on these 2 medals.

The first is a 1901 Buffalo Pan American Expedition medal. I can find other examples of it but none in silver like this one. Any more info on it would be appreciated. (32mm)

The second is a Mexican medal paying homage to the various mints. I cannot find any other examples of it. It appears to be lead or white metal. (55mm) (Engraved by C. Ocampo G.)

Thank you!

@lei, it is always best to start a new thread for each new piece, but don't stress about having two of them in this single thread. I wonder if you could perform a specific gravity test on the first piece. Especially on the reverse, it kinda looks like plating wearing off the high points of the design. For the Mexican piece, please add a picture showing the edge along the top. Based on that bump there, I suspect that you have a key fob or pendant of some type that has had the loop removed. Thx.

The Porfirio Diaz one looks like a 62mm medal in Groves listed as P95a which has text on the reverse - (Engraved by C. Ocampo G.)

@spence
@joewobblie

The first medal has been XRF scanned and it is silver. When resizing the photos it added a bunch of green that isn't there in person.

Do you know how I can access an example of the Porfirio Diaz medal online? I can't find any online examples.
