Hello Everyone, picked-up a small lot of old ANACS Merc Dimes, and this one looks a lot like the DDO & DDR variety: the (W)E is doubled at the bottom, the U in TRUST is spiked at the tops, the tops of the letters of the reverse legend are doubled, etc. Is this coin that variety? Any comments are gratefully appreciated...

Hard to tell from these images, check out variety vista and compare to yours, I have this one also which designated by ANACS, the spreads aren't really noticeable without using a good magnifier, the quick pick up point is usual with TR in the word TRUST.

I will see if I can find some older images of one I have.

I'll have it in hand Monday... those are Heritage scans. I saw that the top of the U in TRUST looked like "twin torches" and the bottom of the (W)E is clearly doubled. I'll post camera pics after it arrives

Went to ha.com and looked up the images, I think so after using the brightness adjustment and looking at the reverse it certainly appears so. Looking forward to your report OldGrouchyGuy, good luck!

The coins have arrived, and true-to-form ANACS was a very conservative grader of Mercury dimes back-in-the-day... here is a close-up of the obverse; I will have others.

Here are a few pictures of the 1943-D reverse. Very interesting... the doubling is complete in the legend and some devices
