Hello,

As I've written before on this forum, I am in Rome with little understanding of u.s. LCS pricing. I know what I pay for coins in Italy but have not bought in the u.s.

I may have a stash of PRE - 1965 Washington quarters and Roosevelt dimes I am looking to sell when in the u.s. I am aware that bid prices change daily...but just to give me an idea... How much are coin shops paying for WQs and RDs?

I am reluctant to blind call coin shops.

Thank you all!

I haven't sold any in a while, but I did buy some Mercury dimes a few weeks back for 20x face. The dealer told me they paid 18x for them. Whether that was true or not I don't know. I just know they should make a profit on everything that comes in and goes out of the store. It's tough to be be in business and even tougher to STAY in business if you have a brick and mortar store!

BUYING 90% SILVER DIMES & QUARTERS PAY SPOT + 4.25 X .715 X FACE

BUYING 90% SILVER HALVES PAY SPOT + 6.50 X .715 X FACE

BUYING AVE CIRC WITH DATES NO HOLES:

Barber dimes PAY SPOT + 8.00 X .715 X FACE
This is a real buy price from Arizona Coin . They are super legit!

Spot ($24 + 4.25 x .715 x .25 = $5.04?) That seems very high.

As far as I know AZ Coin and Jewelry in Phoenix does not have a walk-in brick and mortar location but conducts business thru the mail. Stands to reason they can AND DO pay more. I've done business with them since the late 1980's and they've always been fair with me selling or buying.

Thanks everyone for the responses.

Is 18X face more realistic for a brick and mortar walk-in sale?

I'm researching the various ways to dispose of a modest collection of silver, mint sets, proof sets, and silver proof sets on behalf of a relative. . .went to the Arizona Coin web site. . .

Does "Pay Bid" refer to Greysheet Wholesale values ?

TIA

Thank you, Pacificcoin. I don't think the cost of a subscription "pencils out" for this project. I'm not a dealer, have no plans to sell regularly on ebay or elsewhere.

I checked out the Morgans in the collection with a LCS yesterday. Four MS coins; everything else was culls. The LCS offer for the culls was virtually identical to the "Buy List" info at the referenced vendor. I might buy the Bullion ASE (1986, 1989, 2010, 2015) + the MS Morgans for myself.

Any suggestions for determining a fair price on the Bullion ASE ? All seem in excellent condition. . .one example:

Hello everyone,

Three weeks ago I was paid 17.75 at an LCS and 17.37 the following week. The LCS was the highest in the metro area where I was and all dealers said (or implied) premiums on pre 65 had come down considerably.
