Hi. First time posing a question on here. I recently found what I believe is a 1957 Wheat penny that is extremely thin. Thinner than a dime. Weighs in at 1.8 grams and the edges feel like a dime but really hard to tell.

It's either environmental or acid damage. Not an error. PMD

by the looks of the corroded surfaces it would appear that the coin was in an acid environment. Either acidic soil or soaked in a liquid acid solution.

Yes, full, large and sharp pics. As it is, we're likely dealing with a coin that spent considerable time in a corrosive environment.

Sometimes we can figure out what happened to a coin with partial images, but not this time - we will need to see the entire coin (both sides) The entire coin in one image not broken up into many..

Under weight. As mention probably an acid dipped coin. No premium for an altered coin.

I apologize. Here are photos of the full coin, It only weighs 1.82 grams and the edges are rough like a dime
