Denver Mint mark (D is partially filled in) but his left hand the top fingers are fused together....any thoughts?

*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***

@gem, this is still picture overload.

Sometimes, coin designs are such that certain details are often not well struck. The lack of definition between fingers on the drummer boy might be a result of that, circulation wear, or a combination of both. In any case, I don't think that there is a numismatic premium for this.

agree with Spence

smaller pics are better as well, 800x800 pixels or so because they let more people see and evaluate them

I agree to many pics for just one point to see.

Is not a error.

Is the spot raised above the surface? Looks like it might be a die chip covering the fingers.

Fused fingers. This coin was generated in an alternate reality where reptiles were the sentient beings roaming the globe, This piece probably got to our reality through a Einstein-Rosen bridge.

Actually, the melded fingers are probably from either a bit of grease in the die, or just flattened out from heavy circulation.

The fingers are a high area on the coin which will wear down to resemble fused fingers.

That would be just my luck to discover the first thing to fly through a Wormhole and it is a 1976 clad quarter!
