I found this dime in a roll of dimes from the bank. It has some pretty serious clashing. I am going to have this coin graded because I think it will be a good choice, any advice? It has a few minor scratches but it is in good condition.

Good point @bobby, but the fact that the "clash" also goes into Roosevelt's face and head makes me think that it is a vise job too. Clashes typically only are present on the fields around such details, since these areas are highest on the dies.

to the CCF!

Massive clash! How soft were the dies to flex to this depth of the design? You would think they would shatter before they could go this deep.

It is always nice to have a coin posted which has us in two opposing camps. I hope that @mikediamond will weigh in on this one.

I think clash because a vise job would show more disruption of the devices. For example, the fields around Liberty on the obverse are more disrupted than are the letters of Liberty, which would be tough to do via a vise job.

It's by far the strongest clash I've seen on a dime, and one of the strongest clashes for any US coin. What a find.

Roosevelt's cheek and temple are so deep in the die I have a hard time imagining this as a clash.

Because your clashed dies error has been mistaken for a squeeze job by so many, I'd like to write it up for Coin World as a case study and an object lesson.
