That would be classic album toning. Since the edge of the coin is the only part that makes contact with the album, that is the most extensively toned. Quite nice iridescence

I bet you got a great price on that gem too, nicer on my second look. I know what you mean about trying to capture the rainbow toning...IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. I have many coins like this (but Lincolns) that are unreal in hand, but just look so so on camera.
Oh...another vote for classic album toning. The black rim edge is a dead give away. Personally, I'd try to remove that black and then airtite the coin so the toning stays for good.

steve, I'd just go over the edge with a qtip soaked in xylene, IPA and/or acetone.

NO NO NO....on the edge of the RIM only! NOT ON THE SURFACES! Removing that will conserve the coin and help ensure the toning will stop where it is.
