Very nice contrasting colors.
Is the dot over the MM supposed to be round?

Thanks P55 and Coinfrog, I'm not sure about those dots as they almost appear to be squared by design. Nothing else looks doubled so I'm assuming its normal design.

Thanks Dearborn, yes I think this would be considered a woody though not a typical looking one.

I do not know if this it is woody coin. the alloy of 95 cooper and 5 zinc and tin do not has this color woody and pattern. 5.11 gr it is a little bit underweight from 5.30gr. to be sure about I will do an XRF test to see exact alloy. This was war time coin strike and many things happened it that time from the point of view of alloys.
Second the color of the Reverse full dark and side and some lines on Observe do not has woody compliances. I think a foreign substance. Reverse show like liquid spreed on.
this it is my opinion. It is a relative common coins of Filipinas 5 mill strike

I'm also a little skeptical about this being a woody. It seems like it might just be oddly-colored surface oxidation. It is fun to speculate though.

Thanks for the info Doug, I thought the lower mintage, condition, and alloy error made this a solid pickup for $15.

The most lowers mintage for this series was1908 2.1 Mill, 1909 1.7 Mill,1910 2.7 Mill, 1915 2.5 Mill and 1920 2.5 Mill. and the variety 1918 Large S. Your coin was sold outside N. America with designation UNC which for me was MS 60 with 92 US. Hope help. They are collectors here around for those coins. Hope help
