So what did you pay?

Let me get the coin in hand first. I've had some good luck with bad pictures and some bad luck with good pictures. TBD.

So, update. went out and ran some errands and stopped at a bar for lunch and a beer. Played a $10 Keno ticket and hit for $212, so I guess this purchase is pretty much subsidized anyway. Will update when I get the coin and you can all beat me up if you see fit.

I'm not convinced that this coin is in a GSA holder.

You're saying you bought a GSA in 2023 for 2013 prices?

Hard to believe, the person must not have known what they had.

No, they're all selling at below Greysheet MS63 money. There are a lot of MS63 1884CC coins selling in the $375-$400 range. The pertinent question is the quality of the coin. There are coins that sell without the Uncirculated badge that are high quality coins. Bad seller pictures make evaluation tough. I took a shot on this coin based on what I could see in the seller's pictures. Reverse is pristine in the fields with a strong strike - I couldn't see any hits. Carbon spots a detriment. Obverse seems to have clean fields and tics on eyebrow, lower jaw and bottom of neck. Fields look pretty clean. Am I wrong, maybe. If I am I'll eat it. Guess that's what makes it an auction.

Your prices of "greysheet" are wrong.

There is a disconnect somewhere, how much did you pay, and where are you actually getting your prices?

i have to agree with the photos. not sure the reason why all the shots are angled. typically this is to hide something. a high percentage of these are MS63. I would not touch this one unless I had better photos. I cant see this coin at 64 at all and MS63 is pushing it.

I subscribe to "The Greysheet." That's where the "Greysheet" prices come from. I paid $325 including shipping. My gambling win yesterday of $212 puts my out of pocket at $113. Will post pictures when the coin arrives.

The angled pics might be because the seller was trying to avoid reflections of the plastic GSA case.

Once the coin arrives, I think you'll find that the cheek and neck are pretty chewed up. You can see that in the second photo.

PCGS shows 62's at $425 with auction prices from $300-$360 with one outlier at $425. 63's at $450 with auction prices from $310-$365. I pay more attention to realized auction prices as I think they represent the real value.

I didn't read about the gambling win, and I wouldn't involve it with this purchase.

You still paid $325, I wouldn't go around saying you paid under AU58 greysheet.

That causes confusion.

Correction - just got home from work - I was high by $12 - Greysheet is $338.
