Hi everyone .I found this 1983 Lincoln Penny , I need help is it doubled die .Thanks for your help..
I have some questions. I have some coins in the denomination of cents. Some of them have a weight of 2.6 grams. Is this what is required for the weight?

This is MD ( Machine Doubling) it adds no value
as for the weight:
1982 and newer Zinc cents will weigh 2.5 grams
1909 to 1982 Will weigh 3.11 grams

In 1982 the mint transitioned from copper coins to zinc coins, so in this year you can find both weights.

An easy way to get immediate answers as to whether you have a doubled die, RPM, or OMM. Find them all listed here:
www.varietyvista.com

Scroll down, find the e-book for the coin you are looking for and take the links.

If yours is not listed then you probably have non-collectable doubling such as Machine Doubling or Die Deterioration Doubling (search these topics on this forum and at error-ref.com).

This will enable you to save time when wondering in the future.

Are those two potential die cracks top left and right of the Memorial?

Also for future reference, several 1983 (unicorns) transitional errors have been found struck on copper/bronze planchets. If you can't tell the difference, then weight can help confirm or rule it out. Thanks, Doug.
