My dad had alot of coins, and I have recently started going through them. Alot of what he had were rolls of small dollars and halves, but mostly dollars- and mostly Presidential. I'm kinda torn about what to continue to search when I cash these in. Small dollars are kinda fun, but they don't look to be very lucrative. What are the thoughts on continuing to CRH dollars or another denomination or get into buying mint rolls and bags to look through? I guess I'm just thinking out loud..

Be sure to check the edges of those Presidential dollars, especially those minted the first few years, for missing lettering.

I'm a fan of nickels myself. Zinc cents seem to deteriorate super fast, current dimes are often poorly struck on tired dies, and there are too many special quarters to get familiar with them all. There is a satisfying quality to a well struck nickel, particularly the older ones.

Although it might be fun for a certain mindset to fill an album with State Quarters.

Quarters can offer a good degree of variety. Nickels can be fun as well.

Well, with mint bags/rolls, you're pretty much limiting yourself to just high grade coins and errors... Unless that is really your thing, I wouldn't recommend going that route.

You definitely get your most "bang for your buck" with nickels... far and away the most fun to search - V nickels, Buffaloes, War Nickels, Key-Date Jeffersons like the '39-D and '50D, and cool error coins make them my go-to.
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

I would look for missing edge lettering for sure, as those can be worth a lot of money. You can also fill folders with the coins.
