All familiar markings of the small date with a twist. The 2 appears somewhat doubled inside and I'm thinking it affecting how A possible curvature of the 2 base with the small dates is obscured. HELP! Wouldn't that be a great find& Report this Post to the Staff

3388bknb Valued Member United States 116 Posts	Posted 08/20/2023 4:31 pm I hear you definitely but there is so much odd doubling going on I'm confused almost like a small date punch and then a large date repunch. That would have to be intentional I guess after changing dye . But that's a chance in you know where. Do, what is it doing? Report this Post to the Staff

Thanks all I hear you old buddy, sometimes the scratch doesn't satisfy the itch (with photos) However you can't go wrong with a curved 2 in the date as opposed to a straight two in the date. That immediately tells me which one it is.. Heck keep asking someone on the forum will always help. If there were no questions on the forum then the forum would die. LOL Words of wisdom "everything is easy once someone shows you what to do although it may take two or three showings!" I have to laugh because I was where you are at now and it wasn't long ago. Forget about the doubling, there are several types of doubling that happen during the minting of coins, Mechanical Doubling and Die Deterioration Doubling probably being the most common and they really mean nothing.
