Very simple questions:
1. When was the last time you found pre-1965 silver in a bank roll you were searching?
2. When was the last time you found pre-1965 silver in your change?
Feel free to add details. Edited by jpsned 08/28/2023 6:30 pm

I found a 1957 dime in April, as I recall.

Dearborn, did you get the silver as change from a vending machine, or do you actually own a vending machine?

Found two silver dimes in a Coinstar a month or so ago. Does that qualify?

Got a 1964 quarter in change in early 2016. It's been a very long drought since then. I don't roll search. Haven't found a silver dime in decades.

Quote: 1. When was the last time you found pre-1965 silver in a bank roll you were searching? The mid-1990s, when I was still roll hunting. I was finding a lot of silver then. Quote: 2. When was the last time you found pre-1965 silver in your change? A pair of silver quarters in March 2014... http://goccf.com/t/1902&whichpage=211#1595471

I don't roll search
I found a silver dime on the street while walking to get a haircut early this year. Does that count?

Aside from a few CoinStar finds recently I did get a 1960's silver dime in change a few months ago and a 1958 quarter last year.
2 years ago I (as I always try to do) peeked in the coin drawer at a store and saw a half dollar in it, I asked the cashier if I could have it with my change and she gave it to me, turned out to be a 1968 40% silver.

This may not count, but I did receive a 40% Kennedy from the bank teller today. She knows I seek them out.

To everyone who asks "Does that count?".... YES! Every find counts. I should have added a third category: "Pre-1965 silver found in other ways." I'm just trying to ascertain how much silver is still out there for us to find.
