Have you ever seen a quarter like this? The Silver clad on east side of the coin protrudes 132nd of an inch beyond the copper and it has no Ridge marks. But the copper has Ridge marks

First of all if you can explain to me how the core of that quarter has ridges and it is smaller diameter than exterior of the quarter with no ridges. If you could explain to me as possible I will take care of your plumbing and your house for the rest of my life at the charge. I prepared dryers in my 48 years as a plumber, never saw any coin where on the inside more than the outside. Why is it possible that when these materials were pressed together it was a mistake. You sometimes the impossible Is Possible

It's been damaged, after it left the U.S Mint. Nothing like this can happen at the mint.

Caused by an acid that preferentially corroded the copper core over the copper-nickel cladding. Certainly not an error. The reeding is still visible because the acid acts on the whole copper core at the same rate, preserving but shrinking the devices. I'll gladly take you up on that offer to do my plumbing for life!

My kitchen sink has never drained properly, so I'm looking forward to my slice of the pie!

It dissolves the copper evenly, so while the high points of the ridges get lower, so do the low points. This retains the ridges while reducing the entire copper core.

I agree with those who have said it is due to exposure to a corrosive liquid.

SamCoin is correct. Not a Dryer Coin, but an acid victim.
