My First Fake/Counterfeit Error - Coin Community Forum

My local dealer goes: "Hey HFJacinto, I know you collect currency, I have this 2009 error want it at a great price?" I looked at the note and say: "It's a manufactured error" He goes: "You didn't even see the back, how do you know?" I say: "Serial number is from an uncut sheet, someone made this" He goes: "You're the first collector that knew it was fake, here it's yours" So here is my first counterfeit error. datadragon Pillar of the Community United States 1648 Posts	Posted 10/15/2023 11:06 am Quote: "Serial number is from an uncut sheet, someone made this" Yes, way to keep your eyes open. and a nice one to teach others along with this link http://www.uspapermoney.info/general/uncut.html Of course coming from a uncut sheet does not guarantee that a real error can't happen, but being obviously in excellent uncirculated condition along with the serial & BB from Washington from an uncut sheet source, and being a cutting error that easily can be done by individuals, there are plenty of flags that say its not legit.
