Overall high mintage low value coin, I know. This was one of several dozen coins my mom had appraised/graded by a local coin dealer in the late '70s. So, I'm curious what you all think compared to the grade offered up some 40 years ago?

I'll go with MS-65. I'm not a pro at grading though.

Nice luster...pretty good thumb...no open field hits
Nice chest feathers...nice left leg feathers...good strike.
I could run with MS-65 as well...at least 64.
Nice coin!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! There were 9 Walking Liberties, all 1944, that were part of the lot of coins that were graded. Four, including this one, were graded MS-63 and five others were graded MS-60.

Looks like gem MS-65 to me, based on other coins that routinely slab as 65. Seems like another example of grading standards having loosened over the years.

There are a lot of tics down the center of the drapery but otherwise nice. I was at the 63/64 line before I read the comments.
