Striking errors are one of my biggest weaknesses, so chime in and help me out. At first I thought it was a slight off center but after doing some digging on Error Ref I'm leaning towards Dual Misalignment. I have arrows pointing at what looks like a broken or loose collar and there is a real nice collar clash showing too. I also have a pic of Feeder Finger Damage along with heavy polishing at the nose/eye.

All input welcome.

Thanks.
Jon.

Agree, looks like a die mis-alignment on both sides.

Thank you, sir!

So am I right in thinking that this is not real common, as the single die, misaligned, we typically see posted on here? That was one of the reasons this one messed with me and why I originally thought it was a slight off center strike.

Agreed a 2 sided misalignment with a nice collar clash as well.
But why are there no reeding on it?
Thanks, John. The broken or loose collar marks I pointed out may have something to do with that.

Good point Jon - I should have thought of that.
You really have a lot going on with this one

I've been searching quarter rolls from time to time since the 1st of the year and this may be the best thing I've found so far. The only other thing of note is this DDO that I found early on.

Thanks, southsav!

John1, I did not. The only clashing I saw was the collar clash. Do you see something?

Added:

I suppose, what is going on in front of the eye/nose maybe abrasions from a clash, instead of Feeder Finger Damage, it is in a common clashed area. I just went the feeder finger route because of the look and angle it's at.

Nice find.
That polishing around Washington's eye socket is about the size of Lake Okeechobee.
