Would you take your car to a mechanic and without starting it or even opening the hood, ask what is wrong with the engine? How is the he to know unless you communicate with him? Same thing with your coin.

Please understand that experienced eyes with coins often overlook what catches a newbies eyes. This is b/c someone learning coins often mistakes common damage from circulation as special. But experienced eyes automatically know to look over such things.
Hi Arod66, and a to you. What I see is a well worn 1984P Jefferson nickel. Pehaps a picture of the reverse would help. Is there something in particular you like to know, if so, I am sure there are many here who can offer assistance. I continue to learn from their expertise.
