Happy Thanksgiving to all !!! I need some help identifying the defect on this 1983 Lincoln Cent I found in a bank roll. Can anyone tell me what's going on here? There's the obvious raised wave on the obverse, and a sort of stitch looking line on the reverse.

Looks like bubble plating on the obverse. You should be able to press it down with a toothpick.

BTW. It's very common with the Zincolns. Once it cracks open or bursts, zinc rot sets in once exposed.

I actually already tried pressing on it with a toothpick. Then again with the end of a lighter I covered with a dry lense wipe. There was no movement or change of shape I could detect. It seems as solid as the rest of the coin

To be honest, not all linear plating bubbles give way with the toothpick test. Having said that, the obverse linear feature is a linear plating bubble. Not sure what that feature is on the reverse.

That is a bit surprising on a plating bubble this large. Thx for checking in that though.

I agree that is a linear plating bubble on the obverse.

The reverse seems to have elements of a clash starting under the stairs and arcing through the top of ONE CENT which would be Lincoln's head from the obverse.

The obverse also has a very minor MAD.
