2013 $20 Bill With Possible Ink Smears?

The black ink stains on the edges are from the note being marked while being inside an ATM machine. The edges are marked every 100 notes making them easier to count when stacked. And just for the record, coins are Minted, and paper money is Printed. Report this Post to the Staff

But I'm curious about those stains on either side of the lettering on the reverse of the bill. The ink looks the same color as the clouds in the image. That coupled with the poor condition of the note, makes it a definite spender in my neck of the woods. Report this Post to the Staff
sickpuppy78501 Pillar of the Community United States 599 Posts	Posted 01/05/2024 11:16 am I've come to a conclusion that the stains to which I was referring are not from the printing process but from a bank's old bill flattener or counter or some type of machine that had ink on it for some reason. I also noticed, however, there are a couple of tiny spots on the obverse that look like excess ink from the plate used at the BEP.
